Simply reading about the Tulsa Port of Catoosa doesn’t do this economic engine justice.  We invite you to come out and see it for yourself! The Maritime Education Center is a free exhibit that features interactive video kiosks teaching visitors about the Port’s history and economic impact on Oklahoma. Other interesting insights about the Port and artifacts from companies that utilize the Tulsa Port of Catoosa are incorporated throughout the room as well. The Maritime Education Center is a one stop shop to learn about the 25, 000 miles of inland river system in the United States, barge transportation, the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System and the Tulsa Port of Catoosa.Maritime Education Center Hours

  • For safety reasons all visitors on self-guided driving tours must remain inside their vehicles at all times while on the Tulsa Port of Catoosa property.
  • Self-Guided Driving Tours are only available Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm

Maritime Education Coordinator

Sheila Shook

Sheila has a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She worked with students of all ages for over 20 years. She has also taught adult education and created classroom curriculum. In her position as Maritime Education Coordinator she provides outreach and education about the Tulsa Port of Catoosa and the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System to all students and communities in the state and beyond.
